Starting at the edge of the wall place the blade against the mastic and give the handle a solid tap with a hammer.
Remove tile board from wall.
Finally chisel away the title with a cold chisel and remove any loose mortar.
Removing a single tile from a wall can be trickier.
This can also be done with the addition of a light sander using fine grade sandpaper.

Pry downwards to remove the drywall and tile in a single section.

With the removal of the one tile keep going under the surrounding tiles gently popping the tile from the wall by prying it from the wall using the scraper and hammer.
Once you remove a section use your hands if you desire to pull the baseboard and drywall section away from the wall studs.

To remove an existing tile use a nail set to mark the surface then drill holes through the tile using carbide tipped masonry bit.
In most cases the knife will slide under the tile and by simply lifting the handle up the tile will pop off the wall.
Tilt the chisel to a 60 degree angle once you reach the cement backer board below the tiles.
Continue hammering the chisel to remove the grout along the joint.
