In my case the nail plate was larger than the width of the brace so i used the extra as reinforcement instead of cutting it away.
Remove nail glue for garage door.
Soak a clean cloth in soapy water and rub it over the adhesive if it has not dried yet.
Thread the t shaped edges into the weather seal track then slide the seal across the door.
If this doesn t work you can use rubbing alcohol or acetone but note that either can damage the surface of the plastic.
For the best results soak a soft cloth in soapy water and apply the rag to the glue on the plastic surface leaving it to soak and soften for a few hours.
Then blot the surface to remove the glue.
Make sure the water is sudsy and soak for around 15 minutes.
Most people remember to insulate house walls and roofs or around windows and entry doors.
Clean the door bottom photo 2 then cut the new rubber seal to length with a razor knife.
2 cut a piece of music wire 3 feet longer than the width.
Then i wiped off any left with a damp paper towel.
If you have a wooden garage door rip off the nailed rubber seal.
This will not remove it if it has dried completely.
If your nails feel dry after you ve rubbed them with acetone apply a little nail moisturizer or cuticle oil.
How to glue insulation board to garage doors.
Garage doors tend to get overlooked however.
I have used a heat gun to soften dried glue and then used a putty knife to scrape it off.
Gently scrub the area with a clean toothbrush emery board or nail buffer to help.
Disconnect the garage door opener from the top brace of the garage door panel.
Wash your hands with soap and water to rinse away the acetone and any other residues on your hands and nails.
Be patient it takes a lot of pushing and pulling even with a helper.
Trim and flatten the sharp edges of the brace.
This will help loosen the nail glue from your skin.
